Our second annual full-week Festival, of which I am the Founding Producer, will take place in the East Village!  Check out our 22 performances, hundreds of artists and passionate exploration through beauty of our most pressing social concerns.

The International Human Rights Art Festival offers an ongoing series of art-education events, festivals, workshops and community programs at the intersection of art, spirit and society.  We utilize art to open up space to hear different points of view, to listen to unique stories and consider fresh perspectives.  We believe that beauty, sincerity and vulnerability are the most powerful tools in the advocates toolbox.  We engage in open-hearted creativity and discourse with politicians, social leaders, businesses and others as partners, not adversaries.

Our honorary co-sponsors and participants include Senator Charles E. Schumer; Senator Kirsten Gillibrand; Congressman and Civil Rights Hero John Lewis; National Medal of Arts Winner Norman Lear; Actor Kathleen Turner; Actor/Singer Barbra Streisand; Congresswoman Susan Collins and more than a dozen other politicians, artists and internationally-known activists.  You can see the full list here.

We have in the past 18 months produced more than 60 performance, workshop and visual art events; engaged hundreds of artists and thousands of audience members and been covered more than 30 times in the press including the New York Times, Fox 5 Good Morning, NBC Live!, NY1, AM-NY, Metro-NY, Huffington Post, Voice of America, Crain’s NY Business, NY Observer, Christian Post, Broadway World and many other outlets.
