Alphabet City pilot created . . .
Alphabet City follows two ten year-old girls as they run roughshod through NYC’s East Village. Parents Seth (an actuary) and Gertie, AKA: Daisy (a wannabe actor and assistant yoga teacher) never seem to be completely in control, as the girls play with hypodermic needles; meet Death (at Death and Co bar on 6th Street); voyage to the wilds of Hoboken; meet (and spiritually and philosophically abuse) a Bible salesman from Nevada; get into therapy (with Ike the Homeless Man); get a job at a gentlemen’s club; experience numerous malapropisms (“virgins” for “vegan,” “supremacists” for “survivalists,” “certified orgasmic” for “certified organic” etc.) and generally operate as agents of psychic destruction in NYC’s East Village.
As Seth so-often opines: “None of this would be happening if we lived in New Jersey!”
